Mobile Ministry Library (MMLIB)
Make Your Content Available in the Library
Literally billions of people have recently entered the information age and are hungry for information, especially "spiritual" information!
MMLIB is a multilingual mobile-ready Christian-content library for oral learners, deliverable directly via viral person-to-person contacts that do not incur internet or cell phone costs. MMLIB includes music, audio bibles, evangelistic movies, audio and video community-development and pastor-training materials.
Contributors to MMLIB are required to document the fact that their contributions are eligible for royalty-free, non-commercial distribution. The preferred documentation is confirmation that the materials are created via Creative Commons licensing.
A Global MMLIB is used to create Regional Mobile Ministry Libraries. The Regional Mobile Ministry libraries residing on cell phones are used to create "seed" libraries in specific languages on 2GB micro-SD cards. Large numbers of these micro-SD cards can be planted in a community to spur viral file sharing between individuals using no-cost memory-swap file transfers and PC-to-mobile USB cables.
MMLIB digital files are distributed via Mobile Evangelism, Hotspot Evangelism and Kiosk Evangelism. They include mobile training videos on all aspects of the use of the library and a free cell-phone-based reporting system that sponsoring organizations can easily tailor to their specific needs.
Main-stream media delivery uses sophisticated servers that identify the characteristics of devices requesting files. Main-stream videos are re-encoded on the fly to guarantee device compatibility. While this level of sophistication is elegant, it is currently too expensive for most organizations to implement. Additionally, these systems incur cell- phone-network minute charges that exceed the budgets of the MMLIB target audience.
Several billion people that do not have toilets own media-capable cell phones, but can not afford even the least expensive data charges associated with their phone service. MMLIB delivery strategies overcome this problem.
MMLIB stores videos in 6 common file formats that work on a majority of devices worldwide. Additional information in the library alerts users to techniques for adapting content to work on the devices that may not work with the provided formats.
