Banking for the Un-Banked Wel-fi is an
emerging activity that is currently in the incubation stage. It is
responding to the fact that 80% of the world's population does not have
access to banking. The recent introduction of pre-paid debit cards
that do not require a bank account opens the possibility of literally
billions of people being able to buy and sell over the internet.
Franchised Economic Development
The Wel-fi website is intended to give the users of these debit cards
access to accounting and management of their funds. Coupled with a sister
project found at http://helpforthehungry.net.
Wel-fi promotes the concept of franchised rural economic development.
Tools for delivering the services of a typical franchisor will be made
available on the Wel-fi website. |
